History of sociology and its definition.

This article will explore the history and definition of sociology. In academic canons, sociology is generally considered a discipline that is tangential to the humanities and the natural sciences.

Definition Of Sociology.

Sociology is usually dated to the early 1800s. It is the scientific study of society, drawing from its individual components of organizations, social institutions, social groups, norms, values, and cultures.  Sociology is a diverse, interdisciplinary field that employs theoretical, empirical, and comparative research to investigate the social world. The field of sociology and its definition has been in flux for decades and it has been only recently that we have gained an understanding of an accepted body of work and a shared set of concepts and disciplines.

The most popular definition is that the discipline is the scientific study of human social behaviour and organization.  Sociology is the scientific study of human social behaviour and culture. This means it is the examination of the interactions in society in the past, in the present, and to predict what might happen in the future. One of the best ways to approach the study of sociology is to see it as the scientific study of human social behaviour and culture. The discipline is the product of various intellectual and practical developments from the establishment of society to the present day.

There are two main directions that sociology can be approached. One of these is the more traditional, natural sciences path. These sociologists study society to make inferences about the way the social world works. The other is the cultural approach. These sociologists study society with the intent to provide practical solutions to the problems it faces.

History of sociology.

The history of sociology dates back to the 18th century when ligne de social theorists focused on understanding society. The first traces of sociology as a scholarly discipline may be found in the thought of ancient philosophers such as Confucius and Plato, who studied topics such as social hierarchy and wealth distribution. Sociology as a formal academic discipline emerged in the 19th century as a reaction to social and economic transformation.  e.g. Modern sociology deals with areas such as identity, race, gender, and social justice.  The discipline of sociology dates back to the 19th century when it emerged as an academic response to the social and economic transformation of the Industrial Revolution. It is one of the most popular academic disciplines and is often intertwined with other areas,  such as economics or psychology.
